Brave Art NYC partners with schools, educators, and leaders to build arts programs that are rigorous, sustainable, and reflect the brilliance of their students.
Creative expression is a right, not a privilege. We work to ensure every student has access to high-quality arts education and every educator has the tools, support, and frameworks to deliver it.

Brave Art NYC was founded in 2021 by working arts educators based in Harlem, New York City. We did not build this organization from the outside looking in. We built it from inside the classroom, the rehearsal space, and the school building.
Our work is grounded in the belief that arts education is not supplemental. It is foundational. And the educators who do this work deserve the same level of professional infrastructure, support, and recognition as anyone else in a school building.
Everything we build comes from real practice, tested in real schools, with real students.
Culturally Responsive Practice
We center the cultural lives, movement traditions, and communities of the students we serve as the foundation.
Practitioner Knowledge
Every resource and framework comes from direct experience teaching, choreographing, and building programs in NYC public schools.
Systemic Change
We work at the level of programs and institutions because lasting change requires structural support.
Access & Excellence
We reject the idea that access and excellence are in tension. Every student deserves both.
